NW ANC councillor candidate’s cousin killed after failed assassination attempt

There been a second assassination attempt on a ward councillor candidate in Rustenburg in the North West Province. According to the family, the councillor survived, however his cousin who was driving his car was killed. It is alleged three gunmen shot the cousin 12 times Saturday night.

Police launched a manhunt after a 36-year-old man was gunned down on Friday near Boitekong outside Rustenburg.

Meanwhile, the ANC has confirmed that has dispatched regional party members to visit the family of slain member. The party says it is expecting a report on what transpired.
