Rewards on the table to curb gang-related murders

The Western Cape community safety department says it’ll pay citizens up to R5,000 for tip-offs leading to the arrest and successful conviction of perpetrators of gang-related murders.

Even though this will be confidential, not everyone is convinced.

Delft is one of South Africa’s murder hotspots.

Earlier this week, four people, including a 13-year-old girl were killed in what is believed to be a gang-related shooting.

But a cash reward isn’t swaying residents who fear what will happen after they dish the dirt.
