An investigation has been launched into the torching of eight passenger buses in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.
It comes amid a continuing protest by angry taxi operators.
They claim their associations have robbed them of Ters funding.
Several schools and malls in the metro have had to shut down since the beginning of the protest on Tuesday.
Taxi operators in Gqeberha say their protest could continue for the remainder of the week.
