It’s been a week of congratulations and best wishes for newly engaged celebrity couple Dr Musa Mthombeni and Miss SA 2015 Liesl Laurie.
The two lovebirds shocked Mzansi on Sunday when the former YoTV and Trending SA presenter announced that he had put a ring on it. While many of his fans and followers were not even aware of the fact that he was in a relationship (a serious one at that) a lot more people were gobsmacked to find out that the lady in his life is radio presenter and beauty queen Liesel Laurie.
Musa and Liesl are said to have been dating for well over six months, and one has to commend them for keeping their relationship very private for so long. It also goes to show that they chose their friends wisely, because no news about their relationship, good or bad, was leaked to the media until they were ready.
Speaking to Jacaranda FM about the proposal, Liesl said that she was whisked off to the coastal city of Durban for the weekend by her man. The model says that even the baecation was a surprise because it was Musa who packed her bags for her and ended up leaving her make-up bag behind. Eish, mara men!
The radio presenter added that she thought they were going to have a quiet and isolated time when they arrived, but Musa had other plans, which is when a helicopter took them to a picturesque mountaintop where the big question was popped.
Whilst we saw some snaps of their baecation, Musa has shared more snaps that will definitely serve as memorabilia for their children if they chose to have any in the future.
The cute couple spent their weekend basking in sunny Durban, drinking wine and enjoying some alone time while overlooking the beautiful calm ocean. At some point they also had company in the form of monkeys. Lol!
When Dr Musa shared pictures of the proposal, fellow celebrities and fans alike were very happy for him and his fiancée. Although there were some rotten potatoes who tried to spoil their special moment by bringing Liesl’s ex-boyfriend and rapper, Proverb, into the mix, the two lovers were too excited and in love to let that spoil their beautiful engagement.
Instead, the couple penned a heartfelt message on Dr. Musa’s Instagram to express their gratitude for all the congratulatory messages that have been pouring in: “Thank you so much for the positive congratulatory messages on our engagement. Appreciate all of them we are grateful.
