eThekwini residents have also been warned of water interruptions in parts of the city after a major leak at the Shallcross reservoir.
The municipality projects that the repairs will take up to a week, with the water supply only likely be fully restored on Friday.
The municipality’s Water and Sanitation head Ednick Msweli says they have a big job ahead of them.
Meanwhile, Johannesburg residents will also need to fill up their buckets and containers because the city will be experiencing water cuts from Wednesday.
Johannesburg water says it’s doing this to tie in new pipelines to existing mainlines.
