Yesterday Mzansi woke up to the sad news of the passing of Gospel singer and producer Peter Mokoena. It was reported that Peter died in the early hours of Sunday the 05th of July 2021. Peter’s death came as a shock to his followers. The news of his passing was announced by family spokesperson Steve Harris and also the South African Music Awards SAMA’s on their Facebook page. It was confirmed that Mokoena died from a short illness.
The talented singer was part of the group called Pure Magic, the group he formed together with the late Vuyo Mokoena. He had an amazing voice, and through his music, he managed to touch the hearts of many people. His death came as shock to the whole country. He was a brother to many, a father to his children and a mentor to other aspiring musicians, he will solely be missed by his fans, friends and family.
May the precious soul of our beloved singer rest in peace.
