The AmaZulu Royal Household has distanced itself from a group of people seen in Nkandla dressed in Zulu attire.
In a statement, Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi says Amabutho general Zihogo Maguzumbela Nhleko, also known as ‘Mgilija’, acted on his own.
He led a group of people in support of former president Jacob Zuma.
King Misuzulu Ka Zwelithini has denied sending regiments to Zuma’s Nkandla homestead.
The king says he doesn’t encourage people to defy COVID-19 lockdown regulations.
