COVID-19: President Cyril Ramaphosa vows to tackle corruption

It’s immoral that people are trying to use the COVID-19 health crisis, to unlawfully enrich themselves.

That’s the view of President Cyril Ramaphosa. He released a statement after South Africa reached 500,000 coronavirus infections.

Ramaphosa promised to investigate all reports of alleged corruption and irregularities in the dispensing of COVID-19 relief funds.

He also says the country is preparing for the COVID-19 peak. Meanwhile, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has not yet interviewed the presidency spokesperson Khusela Diko.

This comes after she and her husband were embroiled in corruption allegations regarding a PPE tender.  Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday
