SANDF call on reserve force to assist Coronavirus fight

The South African National Defence Force has called on members of the reserve force to assist in the fight against COVID-19. It says the force could help in emergency services.

The SA Military Health Service also wants to reserve medical personnel to be deployed to help health practitioners.

The army is currently providing support to the police during the 21-day lockdown.

South Africa has close to 1200 confirmed COVID-19 cases with one death recorded in the country.
