Final farewell for Tazne van Wyk

Thousands of mourners are expected to attend the funeral of the eight-year-old Tazne van Wyk. Her body was found outside Worcester in the Western Cape last week.

She was missing for more than two weeks.

A 54-year-old suspect was arrested in Cradock in the Eastern Cape and appeared in court last week.

The community is also expected to stage a march on Saturday.

President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the girl’s family on Tuesday.

He said the suspect should never have been granted parole to cheers from the crowd.

Ramaphosa said the tragedy showed a problem with the current parole system.
