Home Affairs to increase staff, working hours

It’s not something anyone looks forward to – queueing for hours at Home Affairs. Home Affairs officials have told Parliament its plans include longer operating hours and developing a monitoring tool to measure the average waiting time.

Some members of the portfolio committee have called on cabinet to intervene urgently in the day-to-day running of Home Affairs offices around the country. They also want additional funding to be approved in order to employ more workers.
