Black Friday is Judgment day for Jacob Zuma

Friday is judgment day for former president Jacob Zuma.

A full bench of KwaZulu-Natal High Court judges sitting in Pietermaritzburg will decide whether or not to grant Zuma leave to appeal.

He’s challenging an earlier adverse decision to dismiss his application for a permanent stay of prosecution.

This relates to the corruption charges against him for the 1990s multi-billion rand arms deal.

His legal team seems to have no faith in the full bench of High Court judges.

Zuma’s lawyer Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane has described them as hostile.

The State says Zuma’s application for leave to appeal is hopeless and he’s using delaying tactics to avoid prosecution.
