South African actor Andile Gumbi has died. He was 36. The Lion King stage actor was hospitalised last week after suffering a heart attack while working on a theatre production in Israel.
Andile portrayed the lead role of King Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel The Musical. His wife arrived in Israel earlier this week, to be by his side as he was reportedly recovering in ICU.
Reports of his death have sent shockwaves through the country. The Isibaya actor was hospitalised last week after suffering a heart attack while working on a theatre production in Israel.
He is best known to TV viewers for his starring role as Zweli Ngubane on the Mzansi Magic series.
