John Steenhuisen appointed DA Parliamentary leader

The Democratic Alliance has a new Parliamentary leader.

John Steenhuisen was elected unopposed after he was the only person nominated for the position.

The former DA Chief Whip relinquished his position following Mmusi Maimane’s resignation as DA leader and Parliamentary leader last week.

It’s been a particularly bruising week for the DA.

The DA’s federal council chairperson Athol Trollip also tendered his resignation while eight KwaZulu-Natal members left the party to join the ANC.

DA federal council chairperson Helen Zille is currently serving as interim leader of the party.
