More flooding expected in Cape Town

The cold front that’s hit Cape Town is likely to last throughout the weekend.

Friday’s heavy rain caused localised flooding and some areas were without power. The City of Cape Town has now started some mop-up operations.

Heavy rains are forecast for Sunday afternoon and will most likely last until Monday. Cape Town received between 60mm and 100mm of rain.

Most of the flooding has been caused by blocked drains. The city has appealed to residents to not dump rubbish in the drains.
