High-level meetings within the National Coronavirus Command Council have taken place. Concerns continue to mount over the rapid increase of COVID-19 infections. The number of infections has breached the one million mark.
There are expectations that stricter restrictions will be announced soon. Over 9,500 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
214 more people have died. The Eastern Cape and Western Cape have recorded the most deaths.
