COVID-19: South Africa records 7,458 new infections

South Africa has recorded 7,458 new infections. This brings the cumulative total to 1,011,871.

336 more people have died, bringing the total deaths to 27,071. Almost 850,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced on Monday that the country would be on an adjusted Level 3, from Level 1, with immediate effect.

According to the President, all indoor and outdoor gatherings, except for funerals, will be prohibited for 14 days. The sale of alcohol from retail outlets and the on-site consumption of alcohol will also not be permitted.
