Twitter thinks Minnie Dlamini’s friendship with Lorna Maseko is Fake

South African media personality, Minnie Dlamini-Jones, took to Twitter to thank her new friend, Lorna Maseko for special delivery. The tweet, which casually stated, “Got a special delivery from my girl… You got skills mama.”, caught the attention of her followers, who found her message rather insincere.

Minnie Dlamini

Many made mention of the fact that Minnie had fallen out with Lorna’s ex-bestie, Bonang Matheba, and claimed that Minnie’s tweet was intended to rub the new-found friendship in Queen B’s face.

Lorna Maseko

Some also claimed that Minnie thanking Lorna for the delivery was a dig at Bonang, who had been gifting A-listers with presents in promotion of his upcoming reality documentary, A Very Bonang Year. Amie Bogale stated, “LOL, my girl. Yhooo mar celebrity friendships are such a joke. So 1 minute you jump from being friends with someone and then you befriend their enemy. Wow.”

4 arrested, including a CFO and an attorney, after KZN college defrauded of R30 million

The chief financial officer allegedly approached Coastal KZN TVET College with an investment proposal, said Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo.

Four people, including an attorney and a chief financial officer, have been arrested for allegedly defrauding a KwaZulu-Natal college of around R30 million.

The chief financial officer allegedly approached Coastal KZN TVET College with an investment proposal, said Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo.

“It is alleged that during the period November 2018 and October 2019, the Chief Financial Officer made misrepresentations to Coastal KZN TVET College with regards to a lucrative investment opportunity for the institution,” said Mhlongo.

The CFO allegedly colluded with an attorney to create an investment proposal purporting to have come from a bank.

“It was then presented and accepted by the college. As a result, the college invested R30 million into a bank account similar to that of the college, when, in fact, it was false,” said Mhlongo.

The college later discovered that no investment was made on its behalf and reported the matter to the police.

“The Hawks were consulted to investigate, culminating in the arrest of the suspects,” said Mhlongo.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Friday, on charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering.

Cop sentenced to 10 years after deadly tavern brawl

Patrons at the tavern managed to stop the fight but the officer, after discovering he had been stabbed, returned to the tavern to settle the score.

An Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) investigation has led to the jailing of a Eastern Cape police officer in the Ngqeleni Regional Court for a murder he committed in February 2017.

“The deceased had a quarrel with the sentenced police official and a fight ensued at a local tavern,” IPID’s director of communication and marketing, Ndileka Cola, said in a statement on Friday.

Patrons at the tavern managed to stop the fight but the officer, after discovering he had been stabbed, returned to the tavern to settle the score.

“He found the deceased standing outside the gate of the tavern and shot him dead and after that he left the scene with a police van”.

IPID investigated the case and made recommendations to the police and National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).

“The police conceded with the IPID recommendations, found the member guilty, and he was dismissed last year.

“The NPA also conceded with IPID’s findings and the police official was criminally charged, successfully prosecuted, found guilty and sentenced,” Cola said.

IPID said it would continue to execute its constitutional mandate to ensure that justice for all was served.
