Concern over low COVID-19 vaccination rates

Mark Tomlinson from Stellenbosch University’s Psychology Department says vaccine hesitancy is not the problem, but access is.

He believes financial constraints are an obstacle.

“I think that is a very important thing to say, it is not about rampant anti-vaccinations, I don’t believe. It is about access and when you have so many struggles the that becomes a very difficult thing to do,” he said.
