The battle between Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane and Public Enterprise Minister, Pravin Gordhan continues in the North Gauteng High Court on Wednesday.
Gordhan wants the court to set aside Mkhwebane’s report on the early retirement payout of former SARS deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay.
Mkhwebane ruled that Gordhan wrongly approved the package with benefits.
She wants Gordhan to be held criminally liable.
The minister argues that the report demonstrates how Mkhwebane is using her office to fight political battles.
