Former North West Crime Unit boss to appear in court for shoplifting

The trial of the former head of the Specialised Commercial Crime Unit, in the North West, is expected to continue in the Molopo Magistrate’s Court in Mahikeng on Wednesday. Jeanette Neveling is facing shoplifting charges.

This was after she was allegedly caught with stolen groceries and clothes at a local chain store. The incident took place at the Crossing Shopping Mall, in Mahikeng.

Neveling was the prosecutor in a number of high ranking cases in the North West including that of former Finance MEC Wendy Nelson.

Neveling is currently out on R500 bail. The National Prosecuting Authority has since studied the docket in order to determine whether the matter warrants prosecution.
