SA records 2,548 new COVID-19 cases, 235 deaths

The number of new COVID-19 infections and deaths continue to decline. The health department said 2,548 new cases were reported on Monday, the lowest in two months.

The death toll has increased by 235. Most deaths were recorded in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Gauteng.

The recovery rate has climbed to 89 per cent. More than 8.3 million tests have been conducted.  Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
