Many remember the late Jackson Mthembu for his role in government and his contribution to politics in Mpumalanga.
Those closest to him remember his commitment to uplifting his community, encouraging the youth and staying true to his roots.
Mthembu is also remembered for what he did before he moved into politics. He often walked to church. The same church he used to hide out at during the 80s under apartheid.
Father Linda Zwane, says he was a humble man. A man of the people. The funeral of the late Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu will be held in his hometown on Sunday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has accorded Mthembu an Official Category One funeral.
The Minister died on Thursday from COVID-19 related complications aged 62.
