Man rapes neighbor’s 13-year-old daughter for 4 hours, sends her mom text thanking her for ‘The gift’

A teenager has survived a four-hour rape ordeal, allegedly by her neighbour who is now on the run.

The 13-year-old girl says after the older man attacked her last Friday, he handed her R30, which she refused to take.

The girl’s mother says the man had the nerve to send a text message, telling her that her daughter is a “gift from God” and that he can “pay for her”.

The Nyanga girl says last Friday she went to the suspect’s home to ask for a cooldrink, but says instead the man threw her on the bed and s.e.xually assaulted her.

“I went there with my friend in the hope of getting a cold drink, which he had previously promised to buy me,” the traumatized teen explains.

“When we got to his shack, my friend left me and I went in alone. He locked the door and then he raped me. He would stop and then he would rape me again and that went on for four hours.”

The girl’s family says they became worried when she didn’t come home and they saw her friends walking by.

The teen’s aunt says they told her friends to go and fetch the girl.

“My sister (the girl’s mother) then followed them because she was concerned about her daughter,” the aunt explains.

“She saw them going into the place where my niece was, but she didn’t take action.

“The girl came home and she didn’t say anything to us about the rape until the following day when she informed us she had been violated by the neighbour.

“The man has fled the area and keeps sending texts to my sister and telling her that his victim (the teen) is a ‘gift from God’ and that he can pay for her.

“And that is after he took her virg!nity without consent and she is underage.”

The community from White City raided the shack where the alleged incident happened before burning the suspect’s belongings.

Police spokesman Mfundo Nyengane says: “Please be advised that a case of rape is under investigation by Nyanga FCS after a 13-year-old girl was raped by a suspect on 22 January who is yet to be arrested.

“Circumstances surrounding this incident are being investigated.”
