The Health Department confirmed almost 500 more people have died of COVID-19 in South Africa, taking the death toll to over 40,000.
The number of confirmed cases is up by 12,271, taking the total number of infections in SA to over 1.4-million.
The country has recorded more than 1.2-million recoveries at a recovery rate of almost 87 percent.
