Wedding bells are ringing for on and off couple Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane. This comes after Mampintsha, real Mandla Maphumulo, proposed to self-proclaimed Queen of Gqom Babes Wodumo live on air.
Mampintsha asked for Babes Wodumo’s hand in marriage during a live interview on Gagasi FM on Thursday. Babes and Mampintsha were conducting an interview when the Kwaito star suddenly went on his knees and popped the question whilst Gagasi FM staff cheered him on.
In the video, Mampintsha can be heard saying in isiZulu that the two have been together for a long time and that it is time they settled down and started a family together.
Babes said yes to Mampintsha. This is not the first time the couple has been engaged. In 2018 the couple went their separate ways after abuse allegations emerged against Mampintsha. Babes Wodumo confirmed the two had split during an interview on Metro FM.

At one time fans thought the couple was expecting a child together after images and a video circulated on social media, showing the two of them with rings on their fingers. Babes Wodumo denied the pregnancy rumours but said nothing about the marriage issue.
The couple’s relationship has been rocked by controversy ranging from physical violence and Mampintsha being controlling. We wish the newly engaged couple all the best.
