Four Celebrities who wrote Books this Year

Celebs this year tapped into their intellectual and creative sides by deciding to write books. From memoirs to autobiographies and cookbooks, celebs in the past have started a trend and now many public figures are following suit.

These celebrity books over the years were well-received, unlike the mess that surrounded Bonang’s book ‘Bonang From A To B’. Euphonik also revealed that he will be writing a pocket-sized book on how to buy your first property, minus the jargon and endless terms and conditions. We never heard more about that, it is probably still in the works, but take a look at this list of Mzansi celebs who have written books this year.

Ayanda Borotho

The popular actress decided to have an addition to her long list of accolades by becoming a bestselling author. She wrote a memoir called “Unbecoming To Become.” Ayanda has reached number one bestseller status for the memoir, where she penned down all her life experiences; allowing fans to get a window into her private life.

Unathi

Unathi did not want to hide anything from fans, especially about her marriage ending because of an affair. Unathi wrote a memoir where she details her life’s struggles, the good and the bad and basically some (or every) aspect of her life.

Her memoir titled ‘I keep Learning’ was released on November 6 and is available for purch. So far, she has received good reviews from readers.

Basetsana Khumalo

Still on the memoir wave, former Miss South Africa and businesswoman Bassie released an inspiring book. ‘Bassie:My Journey Of Hope’. The book has no scandals, but is guaranteed to inspire women as she talks about the successful empire that she has built.

Speaking about her book, she said: “Writing my memoir has been the most intense, yet cathartic, liberating and healing journey. It is not one of the important projects of my life, it is the MOST important.”

Lorna Maseko

She started with her very own cooking channel on YouTube to showcase her cooking skills, then progressed to having her very own cookbook. The book not only a staple in her career, but it was also reassurance to fans that her friendship with bestie Bonang is still very much alive.

‘Celebrate With Lorna Maseko’ was launched at the biggest designer shopping arcade in Africa, the Diamond Walk in Sandton. Even though her best friend B was not present, she was there in spirit. However, celebs such as Ayanda Thabethe and Basetsana Khumalo came to support the celebrity chef.
