The ANC in the Western Cape wants its coalition agreement with the Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa reviewed.
It follows public outrage over the re-election of convicted child rapist and mayor Jeffrey Donson in the Kannaland Municipality.
His deputy, Werner Meshoa, is reportedly a convicted fraudster and a former teacher who was allegedly fired for sexual misconduct.
Both belong to the Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa party.
The ANC has called on Icosa to reconsider its leadership.
