At least 680 more people have died from COVID-19 in South Africa, bringing the death toll to 41,797. The health department said 6,041 new cases have been recorded.
Total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now over 1.4 million. There are currently just over 127,000 active cases in the country.
KwaZulu-Natal has the highest number of active cases with more than 46,000. It’s followed by the Western Cape with over 22,000. There are over 100 million COVID-19 cases worldwide.
