State capture inquiry expected to resume

The state capture commission of inquiry is expected to resume on Monday, after taking a break due to the lockdown.

“For the most part of next week the Commission will hear evidence relating to allegations of corruption at Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa),” the commission said in a statement.

The inquiry will hear evidence on the alleged corruption at rail agency, Prasa.

Former chairperson of the board, Popo Molefe, is among those expected to take the stand.

“In adherence to measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, strict social distancing protocols will be observed in the media gallery and this will result in a very limited number of seats available for members of the media,” the commission added.

Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has said the commission is determined to meet its March 2021 deadline.
