COVID-19: South Africa cases rise to 144,264

COVID-19 cases in South Africa continue to surge as just over 6,000 new infections have been recorded. The total number of infections in SA is at 144, 264.

The Health Department says 73 new deaths have been recorded. Most of the new deaths come from the Western Cape. This takes the national death toll to 2529.

Nearly 1.6 million coronavirus tests have been conducted. South Africa has seen over 70,000 recoveries.
