The Health Department has reported 52 new deaths due to COVID-19. Of those deaths, 49 are from the Western Cape.
The fatalities include a second child under the age of nine-years-old. The national death toll is now at 481.
Almost 70% of deaths have been reported in the Western Cape.
The total number of people who tested positive for the virus has increased by 1032 to 23,615.
Of those, almost 12,000 have already recovered.
Close to 7 out of every 10 people who tested positive are from the Western Cape.
