A fourth and final mineworker trapped at the Tau Lekoa mine in Orkney has been confirmed dead. The body was found by the recovery team on Saturday night.
Five workers became trapped after seismic events caused rockfalls at the mine on Friday afternoon.
A seriously injured miner was brought to the surface on the same day.
The bodies of three mineworkers were brought to the surface on Saturday.
NUM regional secretary Masibulele Naki said the recovery teams are struggling to reach the mineworker’s body.
In 2017, miners were trapped after a rockfall at the mine.
