Actor Warren Masemola is mourning the death of his mother.
The award-winning actor known for roles in productions such as Saints and Sinners, Ses’ Top La, Umlilo, The River, Single Galz and Single Guyz, has been posting photos of him and his mum on Instagram for the past two days.
He hasn’t broken the news on social media yet, but his management at Moonyeenn Lee Associates South Africa confirmed it to the People’s Paper and said Warren needed space to mourn.
“Losing a parent or loved one in general is heartbreaking. We would appreciate if the media would give Warren and his family time to mourn,” they told the SunTeam.
Warren wasn’t the only Mzansi celeb who recently lost a parent.
Gomora actress Thembi Seete recently opened up about losing her mum last month.
Her mum struggled with a brain tumour for years and she died last month.
Award-winning gospel singer Jumbo Nyangiwe also lost his mum in June after a short illness.
In an interview with Daily Sun, he said his mum was his rock and he didn’t know how he was going to cope without her.
Rapper Tshego also lost his mum in June and opened up about the pain he was feeling on social media.
In January influencer Kefilwe Mabote also lost her mum and faced backlash from people when she posted photos from the funeral on social media.
