The AmaZulu nation will know after three months who will be their next monarch.
This was announced by the AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu will act as the regent of the Zulu nation for the duration following the passing of King Goodwill Zwelithini.
“The loss of His Majesty the King has been a tremendous blow as all of us can appreciate,” Buthelezi said.
“Family must be allowed to grieve. The Regent and the royal family have asked me that I impress upon the nation the late king’s wish that people take out their hoes on Friday.
“As a champion of food security himself and subsistence farming, His Majesty urged that things should not come to a standstill for a long mourning period. People are thus free to plough from Friday, 26 March 2021 in accordance with His Majesty’s wish.”
