COVID-19 in SA: 548 new cases, 47 deaths

The Health Department has confirmed 548 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases to 1,545,979-million. 47 more people have died, taking the death toll to 52,710.

23 died in the North West, 15 in Gauteng, three each in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape, two in the Free State, and one in the Northern Cape.

Almost 240,000 healthcare workers have now been vaccinated.
