The man accused of the murder of Capricorn TVET College student, Precious Ramabulana is expected to appear before the Morebeng Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Thursday. Twenty-eight-year-old Aubrey Manaka allegedly stabbed Ramabulana 52 times inside her rented room at Botlokwa.
Manaka abandoned his bail application during his first court appearance in December 2019. The murder of the 21-year-old sparked outrage. Students at the Ramakgopa Campus said the lack of student accommodation made them live in fear.
Following her gruesome death, President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the family outside Makhado in Limpopo. Manaka’s arrest was announced in a media briefing by the National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole a few days after the killing. He also faces charges of rape and robbery. Manaka is also implicated in a pending r@pe case.
