Communities threaten violence over power cuts

Brixton, Westbury, and Westdene residents have threatened violent protests if their electricity supply is not restored.

They have been picketing outside the Hurst Hill City Power depot in a bid to get power restored.

The community is giving City Power three hours to fix this broken cable, which is said to be the cause of the power outages in the area.

Once fixed, it will alleviate the overloading of the network. But if community members say if they have to go to bed without electricity again, they will resort to violent protests.

City Power says it’s aware of the situation.
