Gauteng Premier David Makhura has taken aim at officials in his health department.
David Makhura says he’s embarrassed that Health MEC Bandile Masuku has been implicated in a PPE tender corruption to the tune of R125 million.
Makhura says while the allegations have not been proven, a broader investigation is needed to determine the extent of the corruption.
The CFO of Gauteng’s health department has resigned and Masuku has been placed on special leave.
