Zodwa Wabantu has hit back at those who claim she is practicing “public prostitution” by dancing half-naked in the club. She may have been showing off her body and hitting a young vosho in the spotlight for well over two years, but once again has had to beat back criticism that she is selling her body for cash.

In a comment posted to her social media pages over the weekend, one follower accused her of “public prostituting”. She quickly responded by telling the user that they were practising “indoor prostitution” Zodwa told TshisaLIVE she has often been called a prostitute but didn’t care.

“People can say what they want about me. I don’t know what that word means and I don’t give a f*ck! It doesn’t hurt me and I won’t lose sleep over it. It is better to eat with prostitutes than judge them. The same society that judges them are the same ones that pay them in secret.

The star said she would use the hate she received as an opportunity to start a conversation about prostitution. “It is not something to be ashamed of. It is not an embarrassment. I want to open a discussion about it,” she said.

Zodwa explained that a few weeks ago she was driving around Durban when she met four prostitutes. She stopped her van and started socialising with them. There was a white lady and three black ladies. I stopped the bus and greeted them. I asked them how much they cost. I didn’t interrogate them, I didn’t judge them. They are people too,” she said.

“They told me they charge R300, so I gave them R300 out of my pocket. They were surprised. I know what is happening on the streets. I don’t hide from the real world.

In other news – Minister Pravin Gordhan loses court battle against EFF

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan has moved to downplay the dismissal of his application to have the Inspector General of Intelligence (IGI’s) SARS rogue unit report excluded from the EFF’s defence in the hate speech case he is pursuing against its leader Julius Malema.

Gordhan’s legal action is directed against EFF president Julius Malema and his deputy Floyd Shivambu over their attacks against him. These attacks include claims that he was “corrupt” and a “dog of white monopoly capital”. In defence of Malema’s utterances, the EFF has sought to include allegations that Gordhan was party to the setting up of an allegedly illegal intelligence unit at the Sars while he was commissioner. POSITION SUMMARY

The Baker ensures a successful link between the Chief Baker and the bakeshop. His/her primary role includes a professional, hands-on approach, which involves: leading, training, and demonstrating exemplary culinary skills and knowledge. Minister Pravin Gordhan loses court battle against EFF

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan has moved to downplay the dismissal of his application to have the Inspector General of Intelligence (IGI’s) SARS rogue unit report excluded from the EFF’s defence in the hate speech case he is pursuing against its leader Julius Malema.

Gordhan’s lawyer Tebogo Malatji said the court order dismissing his application would not impact his court case against Malema, as it had nothing to do with the report. The intention was to make sure that these proceedings are not tainted by irrelevant material. Even with the introduction of the material, it makes no difference to the complaint. The IGI report has no bearing whatsoever to the hate speech complaint lodged against Mr Malema,” Malatji said.

Malatji accused Malema and the EFF of using the report to deflect from the complaint lodged by Gordhan which related to derogatory statements he made against Gordhan.

In a statement on Monday, the party said the ruling was a key milestone to ensure accountability. Today’s judgment is a victory of accountability against an individual who feels above the law,” Ndlozi said. Ndlozi said the ruling would allow the contents of the report to be ventilated in public. Ndlozi said: “This means the IGI Report on the SARS Rogue Unit is part of the court records and now public. We welcome the opportunity given by this judgement for the IGI Rogue Unit Report to be deliberated in the open public court.”

After investigating the rogue unit saga, Mkhwebane found that Gordhan had violated the Constitution and the Executive Ethics Code and recommended that President Cyril Ramaphosa take disciplinary action against him. Mkhwebane also wanted State Security Minister Ayanda Dlodlo to implement the recommendations of the IGI report into the unit.
Gordhan has successfully applied for Mkhwebane’s report to be set aside, as he is taking it on judicial review.

On Monday, the EFF however appeared insistent on pointing to both reports as the basis for its allegations of criminality against Gordhan. Both a chapter 9 institution, in the form of the Public Protector and a Chapter 11 institution in the form of the Inspector General for Intelligence have found that Pravin Gordhan ran an illegal Intelligence Unit within SARS. They determined that he must be criminally prosecuted,” Ndlozi said. The main case is set for 24 and 25 October.

In other news – Kempton park fire affecting almost 900 people

About 900 people have been affected by a fire that broke out overnight on Monday in Kempton Park. Ekurhuleni Emergency Services spokesperson, Aaron Mafunda said the fire broke out in the evening at an informal settlement near Kempton Park.

Mafunda related firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control at approximately midnight without any fatalities. The cause of the fire is not presently known but is being investigated by authorities. Read more

Mugabe Blue Roof Mansion will not be turned into a Museum

There has been speculation that Zanu-PF and the Zimbabwean Government intend to take Mugabe’s Blue Roof Mansion and turn it into a museum.

The Ministry of Information in Zimbabwe has said contrary to reports suggesting that the ruling party was planning on turning the Blue Roof Mansion into a museum, president Emmerson Mnangagwa was committed to transferring it to the family of the late former president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe.

Nolusindiso Mchunu clears the air over watch theft claims

After being a trending topic on social media over the weekend over claims that she stole a luxury watch, influencer Nolusindiso Mchunu has come out to clear her name.

The socialite hit back at the claims, posting on Instagram a screenshot of an e-mail from the store explaining that the watch was put in her bag by accident. In the email, the store apologised to Nolusindiso for the misunderstanding and claimed the watch was mistakenly packed by one of their staff members as they were busy preparing for the event.

“We can confirm that the watch was not stolen but just packed by mistake and we again apologise to Nolusindiso about the misunderstanding. The person will be dealt with internally,” said the company, adding that no CCTV footage was sent to anyone and there was no “proof” that she was seen stealing the watch.

SA woman caught with drugs in v@gina

The officials searched her and found three plastic-wrapped bundles in her private parts containing 528 grams of heroin. The woman reportedly cooperated with the officials, who arranged a fake delivery with fake drugs in an attempt to find her accomplices, reports Mauritius’ lexpress.mu.

The fake delivery led to the arrest of two Nigerian men, Ndubuisi Samuel Ebielonwu, 33, and Eze Collins, 31, and police confiscated an iPhone and cash in rands, Mauritian rupees, US dollar and naira. The woman was reportedly promised R40,000 for a successful delivery.

They reportedly appeared before the Bail and Remand Court on a charge of drug dealing with aggravating circumstances and importation of drugs with warning of trafficking. Investigations continue.

Public works and infrastructure minister Patricia de Lille‘s sister, Cynthia Jeffreys, resigned from her job in the ministry just 11 weeks after her appointment. This comes amid a nepotism investigation by public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane. Jeffreys was appointed as assistant appointment secretary in De Lille’s office in July and resigned on September 20, according to De Lille’s spokesperson Zara Nicholson.

In a written reply to a parliamentary question, De Lille asserts that proper recruitment processes were followed in the appointment of her sister to the ministry, in accordance with the Public Service Regulations of 2016. Gauteng Education accused of failing pupils by allowing shocking school conditions

The Democratic Alliance (DA) on Monday said the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) was failing pupils by allowing poor conditions to persist in schools. The DA’s shadow MEC for infrastructure development and property management in the province, Alan Fuchs, made the statement following an oversight visit to the Apex Primary School in Lenasia. Fuchs visited the school with councillor Dave Dewes.

This is not the first complaint about this particular school or the first site visit. In January of this year, the DA’s shadow MEC for education in Gauteng, Khume Ramulifho MPL, together with the former constituency head, and councillors, visited the school but were denied entry,” said Fuchs. This obstructive attitude by the school management and the poor state of the school was reported to the GDE, which responded by undertaking to deal with the concerns raised. Fuchs said the most recent visit showed conclusively that the department of education had reneged on its undertakings

Despite the department indicating that necessary repairs relating to leaking roofs and the ablution block had been fixed, the conditions at the school remained “appalling”.
“The school grounds were covered with litter, the paving is crumbling, the paint is peeling off the buildings, the toilets are in an appalling state and allegations of overcrowding persist.

“It is alleged that the learners are responsible for the littering. Why management of the school is not able or willing to provide the necessary oversight and discipline in this regard is a question that must be asked,” said Fuchs. The fact that the floors of some of the toilet facilities were covered with water and mud, and other facilities were locked because they are not functional, is contrary to the obligations of the education department as far as the legislated infrastructural norms and standards are concerned.

Fuchs said Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and the management of the department should not be allowed to treat the children with contempt. They must be, and will be, held to account, he said. However, the department said it appointed service providers to conduct the necessary repairs relating to the leaking roofs and ablution block. The works were completed on September 11, 2019, accordingly, the school was fixed. We also redirected two mobile classrooms from Lehae Primary to Apex Primary in February 2019, to assist with the challenge of overcrowding,” said spokesperson Steve Mabona.
“We are aware that members of the community are utilising the school after contact time, and as such they must not vandalise the school.

Three injured in Centurion crash

Gauteng: At 15H44 Monday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Summit Road in Timsrand AH, Centurion.

Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and an SUV were involved in a collision.

Medics assessed the scene and found that the occupants of the SUV both adult females believed to be in their forties had sustained moderate injuries.

The driver of the mini-bus taxi and also the sole occupant on board, a 29-year-old male had sustained moderate injuries and was trapped in the wreckage.

The Netcare 911 Specialised Rescue Unit as well as the Midrand Fire and Rescue Services had to use hydraulic tools to free the man.

Once treated and stabilised all three patients were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.

All necessary authorities were on scene.
